Just a few more pics of the "Hall of Giants" which sits directly across from the Oak Flat campground on the opposite side of Gaan Canyon. It makes me sad to think that this uniquely sacred area may be lost forever because of mining activity.
View from our Oak Flat campsite of the hoodoos on the opposite side of the canyon.
On our 2nd visit to Oak Flat, we explored the opposite side of Gaan Canyon, and found a dirt road that ran along the base of the Hall of Giants! So cool! I parked at the overlook and hiked down to this road.
Totally blown away by the massive stone monoliths I came across during my hike.
I was deeply moved by this unique rock formation which reminded me of a grandmother and child - generational connections that run deep into this sacred land.
This Hoodoo reminded me of a small child smelling a flower!
A closeup of the Pac Man rock formation that first caught my eye when I spotted it with binoculars from our campsite at Oak Flat.
