Aspen Creek, which is located in the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona is hands down one of my favorite spots to go camping. We found this spot last year when I was working on an Elk Population Study near the Mt. Baldy Wilderness. You will never find a better place for watching wildlife - last year we spotted huge herds of elk, deer, antelope, foxes owls, raptors, bats, jays, and a large colony of chipmunks. I had posted about this special place last year, but I took so many photos that I felt this was a good time to revisit this pristine wilderness. Will be posting lots more pics in the near future.
The following is just a video of the stream which ran just below the cliffs where we pitched our tent. I truly enjoyed listening to the relaxing sounds of this bubbling little brook.
What a handsome bird! I love Stellar Jays with their dark top knot - they always look so formal! They were constantly competing with the little chipmunks over the dog food and took turns raiding the dish!
